Robin Hoods Bay is situated on the picturesque coastline of North Yorkshire, just south of Whitby. Much of the village has remained unchanged for hundreds of years and it features many beautiful old cottages, winding alleyways and inspiring views.
The varied beach is laden with rock pools, sandy expanses and fossil filled cliffs making it the perfect place to while away many a sunny afternoon. If the tide is in, an assortment of shops, cafes and pubs as well as the many natural attractions should entertain and intrigue every member of the family.
It is perfect as a base for visiting the many other famous and beautiful villages, towns and National Park areas which surround the Bay. A regular bus service runs between Whitby and Scarborough (via Robin Hoods Bay), allowing train connections to York and Middlesborough.
The Cleveland Way runs down the coast from beyond Whitby to Scarborough so there are plenty of opportunities for challenging hikes as well as the disused Whitby to Scarborough railway line which is available to both walkers and cyclists. However, Robin Hoods Bay is the perfect place to relax and take in a breath of fresh air as well as some of the most wonderful views in the country.
